It all started as a dream. My grandparents were farmers. My parents were farmers. I grew up in a farming community. Not surprisingly, I wanted to become a farmer!

Driven by my desire "to earn", I took up Chemical Engineering. There were so much opportunities in this field, locally and overseas. It was indeed a glamorous job then, wearing hard hat in pull-overs, running a complex oil refinery or get to senior management position leading a team of engineers!
Fast forward. I guess I made the right decision. I finished a degree in Chemical Engineering in DLSU, passed the board exam and got a job in a multi-national FMCG company UNILEVER. I moved from one technical field to another including a 3-yr assignment at its head office in London, UK. I got different assignments from technical to sales to marketing to general management as CEO of Unilever-Bestfoods.
Not so fast forward. In 2004 after 32 years of corporate life I opted to take early retirement. It was then that it rekindled my dream to become a farmer - to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming one.
The birth of VILLA SOCORRO AGRI-ECO VILLAGE. I may not have a formal education in farming but with the inate knowledge when I acquired when I was young plus my general management experience, I thought it is not late to pursue my passion-FARMING. I was 54 then. I maybe too old. I was inspired by Walt Disney. He built his Disneyland empire when he was 56 and Col Sanders of KFC at 66! Not late indeed!
